I haven’t seen it illustrated like this before. Very effective messaging. Of course it actually depends a lot on how fast the vehicle’s being driven, how big the vehicle is and how it’s designed, and how small the victims (too often kids) are. Via @yegbike.bsky.social #SpeedKills #CarBloat

Kids often respond to "How was school?" with "Fine."

Here's why that happens and how parents can spark more meaningful conversations with their children about their day:
Getting beyond answers like ‘fine’ and ‘nothing’: 5 simple ways to spark real talk with kids
Kids have a lot to say. Sometimes they just need a little help to feel confident speaking up.

What problems don't feel satisfying to solve if you can look back at them with a gleeful "Poo poo kaka"?

I let my kids get away with something mildly offensive to help them channel road rage. But that means I have to achieve some overtaking along the way... much harder in these days of sickness.

It's very difficult when addressing a sensitive topic. If you say nothing, it can be assumed that indifference is at play. Say something and you appear like a jerk. I'll risk appearing like a jerk (occasionally that's true!).

Hoi Maaike. Just an Internet stranger who can do nothing to help your medical health situation. I just want to send a vague notion of love and support to you and say that having kids is great some of the time, ok a lot of the time & an utter nuisance the rest of the time. I guess I'm lucky to say so

I could've bought a new, small car for the same price I paid for the eCargobike. It was a bit shocking to me frankly and I owned from new an S-Bike road racing machine 🤯. But I'm comfortable with the value proposition.

Made this change nearly two years ago. A hatred of burning fossil fuels and understanding how that affects daily life helps, plus being able to afford a nasty price tag for a high quality e-bike. Helps me feel more connected to my community and honest when I lament laziness in not taking the bike

Is it possible that the chocolate brand behind this little roasting is in fact Tony Chocolonelys? You can lick the outside of the packaging and taste the earnestness from there.

😋

Easy to simply downgrade an original pic taken at a typical color depth and convert it into an 8 bit black and white image. I'd use Photoshop for this but am sure there are online tools that provide this function at zero marginal cost.

...powerful & unaccountable for executing their orders to dominate a cross-section of the population. Unless you have reliable infrastructure to keep accountability in place... It was the same returning from life in Riyadh, of letting go of the assumption you were being surveilled anytime. No peace

I remember returning into Europe from my first visit into Moscow and the unavoidable feeling was of returning safety, of NOT being within 10m at any moment from a Police/Army/Secret Police officer. I don't fear "bad guys". I fear weaponised dudes with an inferiority complex who feel suddenly...

I recognize if I'm riding at full speed on my cargobike and the rain cover is on, it looks big and intimidating. So I work hard to not give the impression I'm creating a pavement SUV relationship with other sidewalk users. "I'm not here to threaten you!"

You seem very angry. Did I trip into your views at a bad time for you personally?
😬
Look me up if you ever find yourself visiting the NRW state in Germany. Can't promise we wouldn't argue a bit but of the many things I am, petty isn't something that gets fired at me that often. OK 👍🏼

I can go one of two ways with this. Conflict or patience. I think I'm going to opt for indifference which might look like patience.

I have no sense of historical tourism rates to the US & totally don't care. Grateful to have been able to visit a few times on business TX CA AZ & as a tourist NY. Fun
August 9, 2025 at 7:03 PM
Oef. Your arguments are all over the place. You even make assumptions about what I'm assuming (nothing really). All US'ers think this, all European's think this... reality is a bit more nuanced isn't it?
You want immigration or tourism stats, then I'd point you towards a search engine
August 9, 2025 at 3:02 PM
I think the statistics show I'm not the only person who's reached that conclusion. Maybe different reasons but I'm sure that avoiding the stench of authoritarianism is pretty central.
"Don't assume"
