I’ve been in a little rut lately, so I’ve decided to volunteer to do social visits with the elderly and disabled. Hoping to make some new friends.

Perhaps we have the motive for AI integration wrong. What if it’s not for spam, but to purposefully deskill intelligences with a meat suit? To create a vast pool of desperate and very cheap low skill labour for our oligarchs.

The first story of Issue 12 will bring you to tears. It's a direct extrapolation of the current ICE raids into the near future.

It always makes me smile cynically when someone uses the word “pandering” to describe a television program, as if the medium isn’t intrinsically pandering and has been that from the very beginning.

According to a FOI request initiated by journalists at The Narwhale, on a single day in September, an LNG facility in BC burned 1.7 million cubic metres of gas in a flaring incident. What. the. Hell. #globalwarming #airpollution

The person behind me in line at the grocery store only had two items: A huge bag of onions and a flat of eggs. The person in front of me at the smoke shop (a student, but better dressed than me) was haggling over the price of 1 gram. Times are tough.

I’m starting to detest Google Docs almost as much as Microsoft Word. They make writing so unpleasant with all the time they waste with stupid formatting adjustments. I would prefer to only ever use Pages, but ugh industry standards 😰. #WritingCommunity

Not every poem we publish is science fiction. Some are straight anarchist or dystopian. So below we'll post the scifi poems which can be nominated for Rhysling.

I would avoid treating Kalaallit Nunaat (Greenland) as property of Denmark where possible. The majority of Greenland's population are Inuit and the national feeling was already in favour of increased independence from Denmark; being threatened by the United States does not mean that has gone away

Some gentleman and scholar has been sending me translations of Tomas Transtromer poems in my inbox. Thanks!

We really got fully autonomous AI labs making viruses before software that properly distributes text from uploaded resumes. Reason # 1008 why rich people are assholes.

I joke about being a misanthrope, and I have some tendencies, but when push comes to shove, my socio-political beliefs stem from a deep love of humanity. I believe fascists are animated by a deep hatred of humanity in all its diverse glory.

People really think that China will “invade” Taiwan? People really know nothing about China aside from the systematically distorted NATO information about it do they?

I may criticize a lot, but I truly believe cities like #Toronto can be a model for a less ethnocentric society.
