Shoutout to Netflix for adding Baahubali: The Epic on Christmas when I was so over spending time with my family and needed to chill out with a good movie

The Odyssey is for history bros what Babylon was for movie critics.
The Odyssey trailer really has men riled up. I’m seeing dudes battling other dudes about historical accuracy across like 4 different social media platforms.

Tell me again how Avatar has no cultural impact when it seems like social media is filled with people being thirsty for Varang

You can tell Stephen Lang was having a blast playing Quaritch as a horny dudebro in Avatar: Fire and Ash.

With Avatar: Fire and Ash, James Cameron embraces the kind of “amusement park” cinema that Martin Scorsese was talking about. trashwire.com/2025/12/16/a...

AVATAR: FIRE AND ASH Movie review
James Cameron’s ‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ gives us some of the most spectacular visuals of the year, but maintains the saga’s simplified storytelling.

Good point. It feels like the real cultural impact of Avatar is that so many people repeat the same talking points about how it "has no cultural impact" whenever someone brings it up. Those movies are clearly popular, especially internationally, but there's a segment of film bros that won't admit it
I’ve said this before, but I think this largely stems from the fact that, for whatever reason, these movies are more popular with normies than “fandom” types, which shapes online perception. Ask your family at Christmas and I’ll bet most will be excited for #3, if they haven’t seen it already.
Seeing posts about how the Avatar movies have "no cultural impact" is kind of funny. I mean, I personally haven't forgotten about the weird giant blue people planet movie.

I grew up in the ‘90s, so this is basically a given
