This piece asks: what is resonance? and uses a recursive discursive style, deploying resonance itself, to get at the question.

One fundamental for continuing the good feeling here or anywhere is wise, proactive moderation. In the early days of social media, systems like The Source or Compuserve had visible moderators who could intervene when “flamers” (read trolls for mist of you) got out of hand.
Others have noted it but I will too: The big reason Bluesky is so hot right now is that the people who add value to social media - the frequent posters in specific fields - are here now, talking to each other and creating the "spectator value" that draws users and attention.

Consider a wonderfully explanatory theory in chemistry called "dissipative structure" from Ilya Prigogine. He showed that a structure gets too complicated until it collapses into one that works better & is simpler. This has been applied to social structures too. www.nobelprize.org/prizes/chemi...

The Nobel Prize in Chemistry 1977 was awarded to Ilya Prigogine "for his contributions to non-equilibrium thermodynamics, particularly the theory of dissipative structures"

We recently attended a half-day series of round tables on social policy and #economics in Europe. What came out was that a primary need is for #reskilling. We’re developing workshops to help trainers do reskilling in the #digital context.
