I finally remembered to bring these badges back to Dallas!

Back at the Hyatt Regency Dallas, I think my favorite con venue in the city.

I hate that this happened to such a fantastic, talented, kind artist. I urge you all to look into their current Backerkit campaign, check out their shop, and send them some love! Let’s LIFT UP the artists in our community that are ALWAYS GIVING BACK!! 💖🎉 🐳
This.... this isn't what you do to someone who volunteered for almost 10 years.

My art is "not on par"

I give up. This year has been so horrible, one after another. This was the last slap in the face I can take.

One of my abusers/stalkers has been constantly spamming my social media to dox and defame me, but their obsession with my college from 15 years ago is puzzling. Like I was a Guest of Honor at a legacy SF literary con, along with other notable professionals, and that's how they try to defame me?

Our *amazing* Guests of Honor and Conchair at Opening Ceremonies last night. From left to right, Kevin Hilty (Conchair), Andrea Hairston, Alex Mui, Edward Ongweso, Jathan Sadowski, and Laser Webber.
Day 1 was officially awesome, and we can't wait to see what today brings! capricon.org

Update: The con has reached out to me, and it sounds like this should never happen again to another artist or any other volunteer.

That's what I'm the most glad for ❤️

Thanks for having me Capricon!

This was my 234th con, I have been an artist, dealer, exhibitor, panelist, cosplayer, party host, community guest, dept head, and acting con chair but this was the first time in my 17 years I wore a GoH ribbon.

It was an honor to be your Guest of Honor! #Capricon

Told myself to keep my head down not get involved in drama or shoot myself in the foot. But in the last year 3 major furry cons (that have given me similar issues in the past) have communicated to artists in very unprofessional ways. Atleast two are founding members of their con with lots of power.

As part of this ”reboot”, the Art Team got a new lead who today suddenly removed several artists who have been with Megaplex for years.
Some of them had their accounts shut down before they could read the email.
The email says their professional artwork was too poor quality.

An important update regarding Megaplex leadership!

Hey. If you’re a convention lead, don’t ever, ever write a rejection email like this. I don’t care who it’s for.

This is needlessly vile. Your convention is NOTHING without the time and dedication of your volunteers.

Between this and some cons/ events not sending any rejection at all is some BS

Tapping the sign again for why we need some artist union with the direction some larger furry cons are going. For a fandom where artists play a big foundation, seeing how some furry cons been treating dealers, artists, and their design team is very disheartening and again a risk to speak out about.

I had quite a few attendees at Capricon tell me they were members of the Cartoon/Fantasy Organization but weren't furries. I was allowed to look though the old Capricon con books and see the Chicago C/FO used to help run the anime room.

So I met Bill Higgins in a room party at Capricon and was wondering why his name was so familiar. He came up to me and started talking about the Scienceers first president Fitzgerald and was wondering how he knew so much, then I realized I used his research! He gave me a book by Pohl.

Fantastic filk music at Capricon, I honestly think a lot of brony songs would be a hit at filk circles at science fiction fantasy cons.

Someone was giving away sushi he didn't want at the con and I took a risk because I was hungry and didn't want to wait for the hotel restaurant.

As GoH I apparently need to draw against the winner of the Artist Showdown but I'm super impressed with how quick this artist drew Spyro.
