Not me having to explain to an adult that "K-Pop" does not, in fact, work as a generic term covering all Asian music.

Well, we're all fucked.
Clearly the so-called "blue wave" panicked a bunch of do-nothing "centrist" Dems.
("Centrist" is always and only code for "Rightist, but, like, not in your face about it.")

I swear if the democrats drop the ball and kiss the ring after *that* election, my brain might explode.

There is literally no faster way to piss me off than "Well if the kid wants it, it's not actually sexual abuse, right?"

Steam notified me that the Devil Summoner: RKvTSA remaster has a demo now, so I downloaded and played through it.
I always liked the game's characters, story, and aesthetic, but bounced off the PS2 original's controls pretty hard. I can't quantify all the changes but I like the new controls a lot!

Saw a reporter asking AOC if Mamdani was going to be the face of the left the way Trump is the face of the right, and I have to applaud her patience as she pointed out the left doesn't need a face, it needs everybody working together.

And everyone is projecting yes on 50 in CA. This election went pretty much as well as it possibly could, across the country.

So this young man has a scary encounter with a monster and thinks it's going to kill him, but it spares him on the condition that he never ever speaks about meeting it.

If I had money to bet, I'd be putting it on a stupid made-up war with Venezuela to attempt to distract everyone from the current admin's disastrous domestic fuckups and/or to have some sort of terrible excuse to cancel elections.

Just got reminded of the existence of Dark Night of the Scarecrow and had this very visceral sense memory of being terrified as a kid.
It's a similar feeling to the one I always get when I remember The Dark Secret of Harvest Home was a thing.

Look, if I see someone posting a video about Strikeforce: Morituri, of all things, in 2025, you bet your bippy I am clicking on it. It doesn't even have to be good.

I'm not particularly the kind of person who cares about historic buildings with checkered histories, but *wow* does "destroying the White House" seem like the kind of move almost calculated to be popular with exactly nobody.

I spent at least a decade - maybe two - convinced I had dreamed this, because I could not find anyone who had ever heard of it. It might have been after search engines came into common use that I got a real confirmation that it wasn't some elementary school fever dream.

Got into a discord discussion about "Horror Comedy" as a genre, and came away feeling like there needs to be a clearly labeled split between "horror-flavored comedy" and "comedy-flavored horror," because most people expect the former but the latter does exist and can feel like a bait-and-switch.

To be clear, failing to win the Nobel Peace Prize is not humiliating. I fail to win it on a regular basis without even noticing.
Super obviously thirsting over it, failing to win it, and throwing a giant temper tantrum? *That's* humiliating.

This is me being good and NOT going into someone else's thread and lecturing a third party on their pop-culture use of the term "narcissism."

Kinda glad September is Octover. I’ve never really liked the month for some reason, and October is my favorite month.
