Texas Tech students got a balloon snake around the entire lower bowl of the United Supermarkets Arena, up 30 against Colorado.

We are an engineering school.

A $23 billion organization seems hellbent on eliminating analysis and coverage of the actual sport.

Not a way to grow the game.

Normal day: Canada is great and they are fantastic neighbors, I hope all Canadians have a beautiful day.

Olympic hockey day: Canadians are no good, White House burning jerks, and I hope they never find joy in anything.

It’s fine, but the release video is way too good for the product.

The only effective embargo the United States has had on Canada is the 33 year embargo on the Stanley Cup.

Threatening our neighbors to the north over a partnership with China resulting in the Chinese ending the Stanley Cup is a clear sign that the old man is completely off his rocker.

Today in Austin:
- City opening a beautiful new pedestrian/bike bridge on the east side, on budget and four months early
- Last Saturday for a YEAR where pedestrians can use the IH-35 bridge because TxDOT things

why can’t we just have nice things

I sure hope they figure out the playing surface at PayPal Park and Snapdragon Stadium for Olympic soccer.

They will be great host cities, but I’d be wary of injuries on that grass in a tournament with lots of matches in a short window.

I’m pretty beaten down with the Texas electorate but if *north Tarrant County* swings blue by 30 points, my interest will be piqued. (This is early vote only I think)

Trump won SD-19 by 17 in ‘04 and this is north Tarrant is a hotbed for the worst conservatives you know.

Truly awful loss for the Red Raiders today.

-12 on the glass, -6 on turnovers, and half as many free throw attempts is not gonna get you anywhere in the Big 12.

The Tap-To-Pay that was promised last March finally arrives and somehow doesn’t work with American Express or on Rail.

What are we even doing here?

Sports, we need to have a discussion on the order of events on Saturday.

NCAA basketball should not be over before a Premier League game, which should definitely not be concurrent with the NBA game.

Somehow, The Guardian has published an opinion piece on the NWSL so bad that even those who disagree with the new High Impact Player rule are out in force to drag it.

Impressive work.
January 29, 2026 at 7:02 PM
Perhaps the USL can focus on regular things like getting players health insurance, stabilizing the team pool, or figuring out how to get its championship game in a soccer stadium not broadcasting concurrent to the Saturday morning cartoon block before jumping off and launching a top flight league.

Okay so there’s NO WAY Cignetti can’t see the future, right? This makes no sense otherwise.

Perhaps we can trick Trump by declaring him the new Buffalo Bills head coach and calling it a Nobel Prize.

He is not a smart man.

Austin FC giving the new kit to a local artisan that ends up leaking on social media, and Tom Bogert leaking a new signing.

At least some things are consistent at this club year to year.

Trying to think of a worse ownership in North American soccer than the Dynamo-Dash and struggling to do so.

Maybe the closest is in Montreal?

Kind of silly we don’t have a professional women’s soccer team yet.
