One last visit to the Grand Old Lady. Was sat there at 89mins thinking it couldn’t end like this. It didn’t. One last Goodison roar. 😊

OK, fine. This is the 3rd time I’ve said this, but for real this time… Last Goodison Park game tomorrow. Back in Scotland for the week for a last minute trip, and couldn’t pass up one last time.

Just stumbled across this track from a few years back. An energy transition banger.

All of this. For all of the faults of the big money Premier league era, we still have this.

This is the best article on the benefits and challenges of heat pumps I've read.

I really don't know what the solution is, although hybrids (furnace plus heat pump) are one major option. This is after years of trying to figure it out.

Why Is It So Hard to Find a Competent Heat Pump Installer?
It can take patience and persistence to find a pro who knows their stuff, but once you do, you could be more comfortable, save energy, and avoid some repairs.

Authentic Sean Dyche experience. Thinking it might be time to make a sub after the 75th minute…explaining why I didn’t make a sub till the 75th minute.

Seems fitting to be coming over from Houston to Goodison Park for the game this week of all weeks. A new era, but probably my last visit to that magical place.

"It’s more appropriate to think of the lithium-ion battery not as a single invention, but as a steady accumulation of many inventions that were needed to both make a battery practical and to unlock its full potential."

This is true of all innovation.

How We Got the Lithium-Ion Battery
It took decades of research, performed around the world, before a practical lithium-ion battery was possible.

Biden's unfinished business on carbon capture leaves a big opening for Trump.

@emilypont.bsky.social breaks down the state of play below:
Biden Never Wrote Carbon Capture Rules. That’s a Big Opening for Trump.
And for his energy czar, Doug Burgum.

So my small Texas pineapple “farm” has been plotting to eat me this whole time? 😳
The neat thing about eating pineapple or papaya is that it's eating you back. As you digest it, IT'S DIGESTING YOU.

These fruits contain proteases, enzymes that break down proteins & eating enough can actually cause tingling, bleeding & soreness.

Let's talk about papain and bromelain.

The oil and gas sector is now consolidating. They are admitting publicly that to maximize profits they will be implementing “best practices” and laying off workers. Those workers are the best and could thrive in #CCS, #Hydrogen, #geothermal, etc.

Talk of layoffs at Shell points to trend that has cost Houston 60,000 jobs
Shell, Exxon, and their peers spent about $250 billion on job-creating capital expenses in 2013. Now, the group spends about half that.

Great to see the migration of both climatetwitter and Evertontwitter to Bluesky. Uniting behind the common goal of more blue and less red.
