To understand why #TSLA is up today despite disappointing earnings, you need to consider: 1) how the options market influences it’ SP and 2) how TSLA's inclusion in the S&P500 impacts its SP. Once you grasp these factors, the current price makes sense and presents an opportunity to short the fade.

1. Elon spent most of his time talking about DOGE and Trump
2. LFP batteries are sourced from China (tariffs)
3. Brand image is destroyed
4. Robotaxi and FSD now will only be available in the South. Can't operate in areas with snow
5. Elon is aloof on the call

$0.27 per share vs $0.41 of expectations -- which were already revised down. This is the lowest EPS tesla has announced since 1Q 2021, including their absolutely disastrous 1Q 2024 results that sent its stock down to about $163/share. Excited to see tomorrow's opening and laugh.
