As the great Mike Schmidt once said, only in Philadelphia can players experience the joy of victory and the agony of reading about it in the next day's papers.
Eagles fans don't know how good they have it right now | Mike Sielski
Even when the Eagles win, many of their fans still express their frustration with them. It could be much, much worse here: They could be the Commanders, Cowboys, or Giants.

@fetterman.senate.gov, please tell your office to expect an angry phone call this afternoon. I know it won't do a damned thing, but maybe it'll make me feel a bit better. Who knows, maybe I'll ring @schumer.senate.gov, too.

Just finished listening to the audio version of this book, and it is delightful. Yes, it's an ode to letter writing and its various components and accoutrements -- fountain pens, stamps, envelopes, postcards, typewriters, paper, wax seals, and so on -- but it's also so much more. Highly recommended.

Oh, this is an easy one.

NO, YOU MORONS, THEY DID NOT.

Lazy, misogynistic tropes passing as hot takes, though? Lots more ruinous, to the workplace and everywhere else.

Awfully kind of the Phillies to all but ensure that the Dodgers will clinch the NLDS in Chavez Ravine, in front of their home crowd.

So, yep, I did indeed listen to "The Life of a Showgirl" as I got my workday underway. And I liked it. Don't @ me.

I'm a little more than halfway through Sarah Wynn-Williams's aptly titled "Careless People: A Cautionary Tale of Power, Greed, and Lost Idealism," and I'm starting to think that David Fincher and Aaron Sorkin were too easy on Zuck.

I just called my senators and congresswoman to share how harmful this would be and to ask that they oppose it vociferously and often. You should do the same.

Over the last three days, I have learned that dropping off your second child at college is just as exhilarating, excruciating, exciting, and stone-cold heartbreaking as dropping off your first child. Big hugs to all family members going through it themselves this August.

C’mon, @apnews.com. He in no way “sees [this] as ‘pretty boring.’” He only *says* that. Every indication is that he *sees* it as scary and damaging as hell.
Interest in the Jeffrey Epstein sex trafficking investigation has exploded over the past month even as President Donald Trump urged the public and media to move on from a saga he sees as “pretty boring.”
