Seeking Agency Representation

Favourite book? A Bear Called Paddington
Middle Grade Fiction is unpredictable. I think the point is to massively subvert audience expectations, while being reasonable and sensible.
That was something that my English Teacher, Mr Hunt, believed in. Subversion but reasonability. That makes it harder to write for.

Having finished two Bramble Bears, I decided to move to an action-led story set in a school called Code Red: Lockdown.

Feels like the kind of book I’d read in secondary school.

My new WIP Storybooks of Bramble Bear have got to be the most emotional stories I’ve ever written to me. Does anyone else cry at their own writing or am I just a bit sensitive? 😅😭

Did I finish two illustrated storybooks and start working on a third?

Yes. Yes I did.

While waiting on agents to get back to me over my first project (The Chestermead Railway Stories), I started writing another (Bramble Bear in Whistlewood).

I create too much work for myself. 😭

Does anyone else get a little anxiety over their writing? This internal voice of “Is it actually good? Do I deserve to be published?”

I hate that internal voice. Someone come ground me. 😭

My art isn’t that bad - just clunky 🤣 It’s fine 🥲

I don’t expect this to be finals so it’s all good 😁

Seeking representation as a writer is one of the hardest things. Not because you’re trying to sell yourself as a writer and get rejected, but the limbo between submission and answer is frighteningly quiet.

I hate it.
