TN House Democrats

The Democratic House members of the TN General Assembly. Fighting for working families across the
Volunteer State. Repost/Likes do not = endorsements.
And that’s just a Wednesday before noon for Tennessee Republicans. Nothing to help Tennessee families, just culture war and DC nonsense

This morning Republicans killed Rep. Sam McKenzie’s to provide transparency to tax payers about how their money is being spent in private schools. Here are his thoughts on why Republicans killed his bill along party lines-

Despite a recent poll showing that 84% of TN support required reporting about how education $$& is spent, the GOP just KILLED Rep. Sam McKenzie’s bill to provide transparency on Lee’s voucher scam. Once again Republicans are playing fast and loose with working families taxes- welfare for the wealthy

Republicans are playing fast and loose with the livelihoods of our families.
The non-partisan Tax Foundation found that the tariff increases are the LARGEST tax increase on individuals in over 30 years. The Yale Budget Lab estimates that working families will lose $1,700 per household.

State of the State🤝 Groundhog Day
8 years…8 ‘state of the state’ addresses… same empty promises, same misplaced priorities, same lack of concern for TN families, same Bill Lee, same Republicans…

The GOP has had complete control of the state for the past 16 years. They’ve doubled the budget & the only ones to benefit have been CEOs in boardrooms across the US. Meanwhile TN families sit in dining rooms trying figure out how to make ends meet. We know the state of our state

TN Republicans have filed legislation to provide civil immunity to pesticide corporations, leaving our farmers w/o legal remedies in the event of a health diagnosis linked to chemicals found in the pesticide. HB809 was taken off notice today but we suspect it’s far from done

Tennesseans want state government focused on decreasing the cost of living and quality of life issues, but Tennessee Republicans are ignoring the affordability crisis facing families & the budget crisis Republicans have created & opting instead to embrace a discriminatory Stephen Miller D.C. agenda.
January 15, 2026 at 8:09 PM
As opposed to GOP Stephen Miller-led DC agenda, House Dems continue to promote a TN First agenda of affordability & quality of life. Our leaders traveled the state, listened to learn, & continue to act on what the people of TN want & deserve - real leaders solving real problems

A county by county breakdown of the students that Bill Lee has left behind by not participating in the summer food program. Real students, real families, real Tennesseans- suffering at the callous inactions of Gov.
Lee.

(it’s because of Trumps trade war)
December 10, 2025 at 4:08 PM
Telling TN families that they can save money by not shopping while they're hungry is not a solution to rising grocery costs- but that's the reality of GOP leadership. While Republicans give away billions to out of state corporations, House Dems push to abolish the grocery tax- a real solution

Today we are pausing to remember and be thankful for every man and woman who has stepped up to serve our country. We want to especially acknowledge our caucus members who served: Rep. Antonio Parkinson, Leader Karen Camper, and Rep. Ronnie Glynn. Happy Veterans Day Tennessee!

The self-proclaimed party of “law and order” continues to harbor and pardon convicted criminals. Corruption from the top down.

The price to feed Tennessee families in need just dropped considerably while the human toll of Gov. Bill Lee’s obstinate refusal to act continues to rise
