Margaret of York, sister of Edward IV and Richard III and consort of Charles the Bold of Burgundy, died in Flanders on 23 November 1503. She provided safe haven for her brothers when they had to flee England after Lancastrian victories in the Wars of the Roses.

James VI of Scotland (the future James I of England) married Anne of Denmark in Oslo on 23 November 1589. She was unable to travel to Britain because of bad weather so James met her in Norway and they married there.

Richard Neville, 16th Earl of Warwick, known as The Kingmaker for helping first the Yorkist Edward IV and then the Lancastrian Henry VI take the throne during the Wars of the Roses, was born on 22 November 1428. He was the nephew of Cecily, Duchess of York, mother of Edward IV.

Victoria, Princess Royal, eldest child of Queen Victoria and consort of Friedrich III, German Emperor, was born in London on 21 November 1840. Her husband's reign lasted a few months before he died of cancer; he was succeeded by their eldest son Wilhelm II, who led the country into World War I.

George of Hanover (later George I) and his cousin Sophia Dorothea of Celle were married on 21 November 1682. Both of them had affairs during the marriage, which ended in divorce and Sophia's lifelong house arrest for adultery. When George moved to England, he took his two favourite mistresses.
