Seth Bodnar's campaign in Montana is a song we know well-a moderate who foregoes the Dem label to run as an Indy...even if voters know they'll caucus with us.I talk about this, and why I think we're backing this strategy as successful a little too soon: theworldofjot29.blogspot.com/2026/01/an-i...

ICE has kidnapped so many people from their cars that the city had to put out this statement. Let that sink in.
Vehicles that are abandoned due to an ICE detention and towed to the City's impound lot will be released to their owners or a representative at no cost.

It's time! With voting ending today, and the nominations in less than a week, I pick my guesses for the Oscars this year, and also take a look at Sinners, which could be in for some Oscar history if it gets 15 nods (that are within reach): theworldofjot29.blogspot.com/2026/01/fina...

Cooper, Mills, Brown, Talarico, now Peltola...a friendly reminder before he was a rather middling Senate Leader, Chuck Schumer was the best DSCC Chair I've ever seen.

This is God-tier recruitment skills this cycle-hoping it translates into at least a couple seats we wouldn't have otherwise won.

Hot Take: I'd bet that Kate Hudson wins before I bet she doesn't get nominated at this point.

I think neither ends up being true (just a nod), but one is likelier than the other.

Former America's Sweetheart in a feel-good comeback who doesn't have an Oscar yet? This is AMPAS catnip.

Every year, I do a predictions article looking at the year ahead, and which movies might be likeliest to hit $1 billion at the box office. 2026 has a LOT of contenders, and seems poised to be the first time since 2019 we have 5+ films hit the mark: theworldofjot29.blogspot.com/2026/01/what...

An annual blog tradition, in 18 of the past 20 years, at least one of the Oscar nominees got in w/t a SAG or a Globe nod. So put away your stats, and think outside the box as I take a look at the 10 likeliest performances to pull it off in 2025: theworldofjot29.blogspot.com/2026/01/no-g...

Such a joy chatting with @tmroj.bsky.social about Glenn in 102 Dalmatians, discussing how she amps up her performance as Cruella even more in this sequel, the Oscar-nominated costumes, how the film around her is mostly diminishing returns, and more!
