We make our stance very clear that we are a profiction and proshipping event. But what do those terms mean? 🤔

If you've never come across them before, let us explain!
These terms are thrown around a lot with various definitions, some of which are outright incorrect and some almost correct but not quite. Pro-fiction (or profic) comes from the prefix ‘pro’ meaning ‘in favor of’ and the word ‘fiction’. This basically means that you support fiction, and in the wider context means that you agree all fictional works are valid, regardless of their content. It DOES NOT mean that you want to create objectionable, dark, or ‘problematic’ fiction, just that you support people’s rights to explore whatever fictional content they feel like. Pro-shipping (or proship) comes from a similar combination but relates more specifically to shipping fictional characters. Again, it DOES NOT mean that you want to ship objectionable or ‘problematic’ ships, just that you support people’s rights to ship whatever they desire.
