Added a blog update about the V$PROCESS_MEMORY_DETAIL auto-population for processes with PGA growth to over 500MB. Enabled in Oracle 19.18+, so no "oradebug dump pga_get_detail" needed, just query the V$ views for a detailed "heapdump":

Any idea what the new (?) light blue color in the SQL Monitor reports mean? It's different between those displayed directly in the console, and the stored & opened ones. It looks as if it tries to show active steps, but does it incorrectly in the OCI console. 1 - in console, 2 - same rep stored

Looks like it's not available anymore, my SR regarding this was closed with something like "Internal bug was submitted for investigation, but hey, we got that alternate features "Look-up By Error or Error Code's First Argument" or "Search by Stack Trace" added which replace it.
For real?🤦‍♂️

Have you noticed 23ai FREE background process naming changed from ora_xxxx_SID to db_xxxx_SID? Curious how many shell scripts out there are going to break due to this once (if) 23ai is going to be released

Interesting how tech books are increadibly cheap compared to video courses. TOP www.amazon.com/Troubleshoot... is the best compilation of everything you need to know about Ora perf in 99.9% cases. It's 99$/US, 52€/EU. AOT learn.tanelpoder.com/courses/adva... is most likely great too, but it's 2000$.

One minor comment: coalesce is not a function, it’s an expression, which allows short circuit evaluation
A while ago, I came across an interesting NVL trick on Connor Mc'Donald's blog. tinyurl.com/yc6xkdcz
I found this example intriguing enough to explore it myself.
Let's check, what is smarter/faster: NVL, COALESCE or old good query with OR.

We live in the different worlds :) As a developer I find this dashboard distinctly unhelpful. Let's say I have an incident: p99 of resp time is above the targets. Will AAS tell us what ails those queries? Not really. This is the reason why we use SQL trace with extra tooling.
