I was doing some bird editing, so here's a couple takes of some popular winter birds, the Pine Grosbeak and the Bohemian Waxwing - in Ontario, they're both usually birds of the Boreal Forest, but move south in bad crop years. Both love ornamental trees like crabapples, which is how I found these!

It's #fighterfriday and this time I have two different jets to share! It's a hot topic right now, but Canada's currently reviewing its purchase of F-35s and SAAB is making a second pitch for the JAS-39 Gripen E. Which do you like better?

Continuing on with posting heavies, here's a picture of that time the USAF B-52H Stratofortress 60-0025 made a couple passes over the scenic eucalyptus trees near Australian International Air Show at Avalon Airport.

#throwbackthursday to when a USAF C-5M from Dover AFB spiraled through the cloud layer over Airshow London to start some pattern work on arrival! The spiral made for some moody images, such as this one.

It's #warbirdwednesday! Here is Louis Horschel's FG-1D Corsair taking off at dusk. This was one of the first times I had seen a twilight warbird display at Aero Gatineau-Ottawa 2025.

Air Tindi Dash 7 on final approach to Downsview Airport, Toronto in June of 2022, in what would be the last time a Dash 7 visits CYZD airport before it eventually permanently closed.

The Dash 7 is capable of operating on gravel air strips of just 1,500 feet with a full payload.

It was on this day in 1940 that the P-51 Mustang took its first flight at Mines Field in Los Angeles, California.

Pictured, Mackenzie Cline flies the P-51D Mustang "Double Trouble Two" over Barrie Airshow 2024.

Tonight is game 1 of the World Series, so here is the Sky Dome with the Snowbirds in the foregorund, and the Toronto skyline in the background.

The RCAF Snowbirds completed their 2025 season this week with their home closer air show, what better time to share a #snowbirdsaturday moment such as this image from a photoshoot flight back in August 2024 near Abbotsford?

Before Thanksgiving.. after Thanksgiving!

Did you know the CC-130J is longer than the older CC-130H Hercules by over 4 meters? You can really tell the difference in these two side by side images.

Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.

One year ago today, the city of Toronto was one of many locations that was lit up by the Northern Lights. Here are some of my favourite images of that wonderful night.

De Havilland Aircraft of Canada announced today De Havilland Defence, a new division specializing in the development and delivery of special aircraft mission solutions. These include the DHC-515 Water Bomber, Twin Otter, Dash 8, and Sherpa.

Which would you like to see more of?

Another Nuit Blanche has passed in the city of Toronto, and art could be found through several different regions of the city. I visited four of them. This thread will feature some of my highlights of each region in the 2025 edition of the event.

Some of you had mentioned you'd like to see more commercial images, so I will share some more of that going forward.

To start that, here is the Singapore Airlines A380 9V-SKW on final at LHR from SIN airport. This was the second A380 type that I have taken a picture of, the first being Emirates.

Airshow London 2017 featured probably one of the most aggressive takeoffs I've seen a Short Skyvan do - this one full of the Canadian Armed Forces Parachute Team, The SkyHawks. The fall colours in the background add a nice touch.

Something I am curious about on here is what kind of aviation images do people like most?

General Aviation? Commercial? Military? All of the above?

I have a catalogue of over 15 years worth of images and am curious which I should prioritise featuring on here next. Pictured, A-10C at sunrise.

Some Monday Magic courtesy of Bob Carlton in his FoxJet Sailplane at Abbotsford International Air Show 2024. This image represents about 3 minutes of Bob's night time pyrotechnic display. Can you follow the gliders outline in the sky?

A new RCAF CC-295 Kingfisher arrived in Ottawa today from CFB Greenwood, Nova Scotia.

This one was #295513 and I opted to capture a head on view, as I had achieved a side profile of one previously last year.

The Kingfishers are the new Fixed-wing SAR platform for the RCAF.

The MV-22 Osprey breaks right at sunset over the skies of Airshow London this year. I think the Osprey had the best lighting conditions that night, with the perfect clouds behind.
