It sucks that this is both 1. Unambiguously true and 2. Among the worst things to happen in the history of human communication. It’s society-wide brain rot.
i have said this before but if you are actually interested in influencing people beyond a narrow circle of too-online journalists you will be making direct to camera videos on tiktok, instagram and youtube. if you primarily post on text-based social media then you're just dicking around.

It's not like I'm deathly worried or anything, but it's evidence we are in the dumbest timeline that the thought of what will happen if my infant daughter gets measles, since she's not yet old enough for her first MMR dose, occupies space in my mind.
