I've genuinely never had an experience like it. Packed cinema, credits roll, not a single person even shuffles. It was well into the scroll before the first people even started to gather their things.

Also it seems likely that one or two companies are likely to 'win' the AI race, so some of the larger competitors who lose are likely to switch and use this as a springboard that they are the non-ai company. We have already seen a hint of this from Apple and their new TV ident.

One potential upside of AI is that as we draw closer to the inevitable bubble burst I reckon we will also see a boom in creative pre-empting it and putting a lot of effort into traditional mediums.

I implore everyone to see this in the cinema if you can. It's a masterwork. No one gives 'monsters' heart like he does. Also Desplat's score is just perfection.

I saw @realgdt.bsky.social 's Frankenstein tonight and I adored it. It is so refreshing when a creator has such a profound love & understanding of the source material It is abundantly clear from the largest set piece to the tiniest little detail that he poured absolutely everything into this film.

I still hear all the classic 'Eavy Metal ones. That they paint larger versions of the minis to do the details so well, they don't paint the backs, they are just photoshopped etc.
