Closing thoughts of 2025 and my promise for 2026.

This year was really tough to be an artist. With Gen AI being forced onto everything and the tech making the average person suspicious of everything they see online- I have decided that I will no longer polish my art to a “perfect” standard. I will be preserving every stroke, flick of the wrist, jitter and uncertain line in my work. My colours will be messy and crude. I have nothing to hide in my craft. I want to show you real work behind every piece. It’s time for us artists to stop worrying over perfection and embrace that art is messy, emotional, frustrating, draining and fulfilling. I can only hope that you may find comfort and inspiration over my scribbles. They’re made with my hands and love. Art is human. With love from Loki.

Hope your holidays went well, mine did, but some things have cropped up which i need to state publicly. Ive injured my wrist and its pretty serious this time too. ive noticed that drawing on my ipad now leads to soreness, aching and even tingling sensations in my right hand. Im going to hold off on working on commissions, owed art and rendered personal stuff while this heals. Commissions and invoices are paused for now. this is because i need to undergo the process of registering for a VAT number in Malta to properly open a savings account. This shouldn't take long, but i also need to see on pricing and hours i work so that it doesn't interfere with government funding too. Bit of a hassle, and theres a chance i wont be able to do commissions for a while, but im at the mercy of the system. School work and tests are ramping up, and I need to put my nose down and study. I am pretty certain i want to go into applied biochemistry, which requires me to stay focused and get everything in order. Malta's A level in chemistry is notorious for being difficult (because our theory is intense, and none of it is actually translated in practice since no institute here is funded enough to actually apply those theories...) like, i have to do titrations by hand lmfao, and it stays that way until you work somewhere. All in all, I have some breathing room to figure things out. In the meantime, expect smaller scale doodles and maybe even fan art. Ive been playing around with drawing in a super stylized, almost toy like art style. once i draw something I'm okay with sharing, ill show. Thanks for reading, and happy new year!

I've injured my wrist again 😞 which means I can't draw anything beyond doodles. That means comms, gifts and owed art have to be paused until it's in a better state.
