Autumn colours are just spectacular right now. I visited Knockbarron wood as the light was fading to dusk.
So still and serene, the beauty within took my breath away.

This is mycelium from the Honey fungus known as "bootlaces" which are tough, root-like rhizomorphs that allow the fungus to spread through the soil and infect trees up to 9 metres away!They are a key part of the honey fungus lifecycle, helping it move from one host to another. Amazing nature!
