This is mycelium from the Honey fungus known as "bootlaces" which are tough, root-like rhizomorphs that allow the fungus to spread through the soil and infect trees up to 9 metres away!They are a key part of the honey fungus lifecycle, helping it move from one host to another. Amazing nature!
