One would think the purpose of having fuck you money is to say, “Fuck you.” But watching Bezos preside over the Washington Post, it seems the purpose of fuck you money is to have more fuck you money.
The Jeff Bezos who bought the Washington Post was a different guy from the one who is allowing its destruction now. But oligarchs gonna oligarch. Read more on Fresh Hell about what’s really behind the bloodletting at the Post.

Grateful for the response to my latest Fresh Hell column, which recounts Jeffrey Epstein's panic over the stories we ran at The Daily Beast in 2010.

Thanks to the latest DOJ doc deluge, I now know that, after I published stories about Jeffrey Epstein in The Daily Beast, he was in a deep panic.

Out tomorrow: “Bonfire of the Murdochs” — the real succession story of the Murdoch empire (already a #1 best-seller).

Gabe Sherman has been studying the Murdochs for nearly 20 years, and somehow managed to fit their story in 256 pages.

The Rupert Murdoch in Gabriel Sherman’s new book Bonfire of the Murdochs is very different from Succession’s roaring profanity machine, Logan Roy. Murdoch is the media world’s great white shark, with a slight trail of blood at the corner of his thin mouth.

"I have no idea how the sheriff of Philadelphia suddenly got into the news flow and I don’t care... If only Bilal had been around to pound the cautious prevarications out of Kamala Harris on the ’24 campaign trail."

— from this week’s Fresh Hell column.
Philadelphia Sheriff Rochelle Bilal warns ICE:

"No law enforcement professional wears a mask... Those that come into our communities wearing a mask to commit crime... You getting arrested".

"Fake wannabe law enforcement... The criminal in the WH will not be able to keep you from going to jail".
