Since no one will read this anyway: Summer foods are not my favorite, and I'm kind of glad their time is drawing to a close. You should not have to wash your whole face and floss your teeth just because you ate dinner. Other seasonal foods do not create this kind of drama. There, I said it.

I went on eBay and bought some actual compact discs of music recorded in the 2020s. It feels good.

I never got too active on Twitter because I felt isolated there. Seemed like you had to be very extroverted and spend a ton of time chatting with strangers for it to be more interactive and less just taking in news from your feed. How should I do Bluesky differently so that doesn't happen?

My 6yo has decided to try out "how dare you" and "or else" as regular phrases in his daily vocabulary. Living with an 80s cartoon villain is not boring.

Happy 100th birthday to a novel that drew me into literature, and still has a lot to say to us today.
They were careless people, Tom and Daisy- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they had made.

When people tell me "I don't know how you do it with 4 kids" I feel like they're picturing American kids paying $2k/yr for travel sports as standard. Oh no my friend. My kids' hobbies are church, scouts, their tablets, and hanging out with their weird family. They're going to be okay.

TBH it feels pretty lonely here for me. I know it's a better moral option than FB, but I'd love to have some actual interactions with the real people I follow/am followed by. What's something funny that happened to you last week?

Moving furniture out of our house is like doing the "all aboard board" in a low ropes course. The same amount of random stuff, smaller and smaller flat surfaces to pile it on. Chaos awaits when we move the dinner table...

Closing Day. We are homeowners! The pen I used to sign a stack of closing documents came from the Courtyard Marriott, Bay City, where I spent my first night here 18 months ago. We had a picnic dinner in the new place, a house blessing, and a toast (complete with confetti 🤣). It was a great day.

You know, my wife is right about a lot of things, but when she said "don't pack the clock first," yet there was a super convenient box that already had "clock" written right on it, so I dropped it in there...

...she was also correct about this. Like, absolutely a whole other level of correctness.
