Really tired of the assumption that because I believe in socialism I am lazy, looking for handouts, or refusing to take responsibility for my own choices. I believe people should have opportunities and not be subject to economic or other forms of slavery.

I would post all the reasons we're moving out of the US, but Bluesky has a 250-word limit. Suffice it to say, we refuse to pay tax dollars to fund the gestapo and their concentration camps. We refuse to be complicit in the destruction of rights, freedoms, and democracy.

We've had enough and will be moving to Slovenia within a year.
After shouting at the top of our lungs for our entire lives to deaf ears, we are giving up on the US. My grandparents fled the region to escape fascism and war. Things have now come full circle, hopefully leading to new opportunities.

Today was tough. One of my partners has been sick for a week, fortunately not Covid, but some nasty flu. So now my other partner and I are both ill.
And then I had the hardest tutoring session of my life. My Jr. High aged student is studying the holocaust. I could barely keep it together. Tears 😢
