I demand urgent action from Turkish authorities regarding livestock vessel Spiridon II which departed Uruguay on 19/09 carrying 2,901 cattle.

Authorization to unload surviving animals must be granted immediately. Every other day at sea causes more suffering.

Tomorrow, we vote in the EU Parliament on whether plant-based products can use meat names. 🍔

Together with my Group, I will vote against the
#VeggieBurgerBan!

Let’s invest our efforts in what really counts - climate action and social justice - not word games!

💜 Today, on #SafeAbortionDay:
Let’s remember that women’s rights are never guaranteed.

Abortion is healthcare.

Sexual & reproductive rights are fundamental rights.

Across the EU, access to safe abortion remains unequal.

We must defend the right to safe & legal abortion everywhere 🇪🇺

2019: I got arrested after an anti-nuclear protest at a Belgian airbase.

2025: The fight continues.

#NuclearWeapons kill civilians indiscriminately, devastate entire regions & harm future generations. They must be banned.

With unstoppable energy, the #BackToTheFuture march made it from Maastricht to Brussels. Against deregulation and for a future that protects people and planet, they were loud and clear 📣 and I was so happy to walk alongside them for the last bit, also with the wonderful @tillymetz.bsky.social

❌ From #GreenDeal to Green Delay

The Commission postponed the #DeforestationRegulation again. How much more time & credibility will they waste?

Every delay means more forests lost, communities harmed & our future at risk.

🌳 @greens-efa.eu will keep fighting: for forests, people & the planet!

Today, on #EuropeanDayForHumaneScience, I stand to support the phase-out of animal testing.

Cruelty-free choices can assure safety & drive innovation.

Together, we must defend these bans to keep Europe leading in humane science! 🐾

🚨The Commission is risking our #roadsafety & fuelling #pollution: I have submitted a written question demanding answers, along with my colleagues from the Greens.

The mutual recognition clause in the EU-US trade deal risks a surge in monster SUVs.

That means:
❌high CO2 & toxic emissions

Supporting meat alternatives is good for #humanhealth, the #environment, #animalwelfare🌱

Thanks to @easac.bsky.social for the invite to their report launch.

A fair EU food transition must include consumers, farmers & stakeholders, with coherent policies & political courage as essential conditions.

Pleased to speak at the EAPM Vision 2030.
Personalized medicine holds promise for patients, but only if it’s equitable.
➡️Access still varies across EU
➡️Risk of “luxury medicine” is real
➡️Tech like decentralized trials & EU-wide data sharing can help
Equity must be at the ❤️ of innovation.

Despite the hottest June on record, EPP sided with far right to block urgent EU climate action, choosing delay & denial.

The file is now in the hands of a Patriot MEP, jeopardising the EU’s ability to have a position ready for #COP30.

A shameful setback for people, planet & the EU’s credibility.

Kindness should be a policy 💚🐾

I was honored to speak at @eurogroupforanimals.org annual conference alongside @nielsfuglsang.bsky.social & others.

We discussed animal transport, the vote on cats & dogs, ECIs & what's next for EU #animalwelfare.

Thanks for the motivation to continue the fight! 🐱🐷

EU pharma reform trilogues kicked off.

As we negotiate this law, we must keep in mind why it's important for patients across the EU.

💊Equal access to medicines
💉Meaningful innovation
🧫Real solutions to AMR
🔎Transparency in the pharma sector

I look forward to working with the entire EP team.

A step forward for European Rail! 🚂 🇪🇺

In today's trilogue on the capacity regulation I negotiated:

- more coordination and safeguards on national strategic guidance
- more binding EU frameworks
- setting up of an Advisory Performance Panel
- creation and consultation of European Railway Platform

#PandemicAccord is a big step for global health security and solidarity. It may not include everything we had hoped for, but it is a breakthrough. I am pleased to see multilateralism deliver - but we must now build trust, ensure fair access to health tools, and support WHO’s leadership.

Majority of MEPs just voted in favour loosening the Habitats Directive – lowering the wolf’s protection status.😢🐺

Species protection isn’t a bargaining chip! We need real solutions, not symbolic politics.

This is a heavy blow for environmental and species protection.

One Health is not optional 🌍

It must be a political imperative.
Whether it’s PFAS in water, AMR from factory farms, or climate-fueled outbreaks — we need joined-up governance, not siloed fixes.

We have to stop firefighting symptoms and start governing systems.

Animal Transport: Step 2 ✅

After attempts by far-right, EPP & Renew to delay the whole process-time had come to submit amendments.

Our green demands include shorter transport times, sea transport time limit, strict rules for unweaned animals, phase-out of live export & improved temperature limits.
