Update on this, in case anyone cares: teacher reached out and said my daughter was as respectful as a 7 year old could be when bringing this up and it started a really good discussion in the class about different perspectives in history 🤷‍♀️

So I tried explaining to my 1st grader how Native Americans may not see the US Thanksgiving as a good thing and she told her entire class the pilgrims were bad and selfish. Her teacher sent me a message. You'll find me hiding under a rock for the foreseeable future 😳😫🤦‍♀️😭
