We recently republished a piece by Chris Birch, remembering his friendship with Mark Ashton. Mark died on this day in 1987 from an AIDS-related illness.

PrEP is a gamechanger for ending new HIV cases and widening PrEP access is crucial.

It's great to see the Women and Equalities Committee calling for PrEP to be accessible online and through community pharmacies.

Director Derek Jarman was born on this day in 1942. He was one of the first people in the UK to speak openly about living with HIV.

On this day in 1987, Mark Ashton, co-founder of Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners, was diagnosed with HIV.

His friend Chris wrote a beautiful tribute to Mark, which he shared in 2014, and has now been republished on our website.
