It’s rather nice that the Penguins have not one but two prospects that Team Canada is like “yes please” for.

If the NHL hand pass rule allowed for interpretation and “letting the players protect their face”, Sidney Crosby would have made a living doing complex trigonometry in the direction of his teammates for lay-up goals.

I think the biggest takeaway from this game is as follows:
The Flyers haven’t won a goddamned thing since 1975, have failed on the biggest stage 6 times, and basically exist so the rest of the league has something to point at and shake their heads.

They're still thin as a roster even before the injuries, defensively squirrelly, and far too much of the team's fate is tied up in rookies relied upon to overperform.
