It is refreshing entering one of these musical biopics with absolutely zero knowledge of the artist’s life story, aside from some descriptions of Bob Dylan as someone who has redefined his musical output on multiple occasions, which is something very much at the centre of A Complete Unknown. I had a theory going into it that my ignorance of Dylan’s life would help me to escape the typical tropes of the tried and tested Hollywood MB, especially as A Complete Unknown squares its focus on a particular period of Dylan’s career, 1961 to 65, rather than go all the way

Well, that was prophetic... Dracula 1958 AKA Horror of Dracula, Hammer Horror's original foray into the iconic vampire tale. I'm amazed by how short all of these films have been so far.
Not only does this give us more context to Renfield's relationship with the Count, but it more fully establishes the full breadth of the threat he poses, as Renfield can be the victim to Dracula's bite that Jonathan just can't be without further altering the plot.

Finished reading Dracula and checked out the '22 and '31 adaptations this week and already impressed how, even this early into Dracula's cinematic tenure, the changes to the original story are all pretty good.

Reading Dracula for the first time in anticipation of the new Nosferatu coming out, planning to make my way through all the major Dracula films once I’ve finished the book; only seen the 1922 silent film thus far, one of my many classic film gaps.
