Just in time for the 2026 midterms?

Good plan for creating an even bigger Blue Wave. I'd say 'good', but students loan borrowers will be ruined in the meantime.

A provision of the American Rescue Plan that excludes forgiven student loan debt from federal income tax is set to expire at the end of 2025.

So SCOTUS punted. Instead of ruling on the legality of blocking SNAP payments for which there's emergency funding, they pressed 'Hold' until (if and when) the funding bill is passed.

That we got ONE good decision out of them this week (upholding marriage equality) is a miracle.
Supreme Court extends its order blocking full SNAP payments, with shutdown potentially near an end
The justices chose what is effectively the path of least resistance.

And this is why you cannot trust Rethuglicans to negotiate in good faith. Everthing is a shakedown.

They were never gonna do the right thing on healthcare, regardless of whether the shutdown continued or ended.

Democrats say that’s a nonstarter, arguing there are already limits on abortion access. The dispute could torpedo a deal, leading to higher health insurance premiums for millions.

I feel like Schumer not voting for the measure himself was a calculated 'CYA' move. He is an ineffective leader, to say the least.

So once again "moderate" Democrats (old school hacks) snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

And Chuck Schumer....follow Nancy Pelosi's example and call it a day.

But then, AOC will primary you.
And win.

Even if this happens (his previous "checks are coming" claims did NOT happen), it won't even cover the increase in health care premiums for anyone on private insurance. And then there's the other cost of living increases (that he denies exist).

But party on, Mar-a-Lago, party on.
