New cuteness level unlocked. I present to you Apollo, my friend's Bernese mountain dog/golden retriever mix puppy. He'll definitely grow into that name.

These 660ml bottles are quite satisfying. Big draft from the glass and then top that bad boy right back up again.

Seems there are some benefits to being up early for a my son's hurling match.

Turns out 'rouge' means cherries in Kwak speak. I anticipated a darker malt version of their classic. Not complaining. Bit at 8% abv it needs some respect.

Can confirm.

Kwak's work around for the elimination of their wooden trug. Can't say I saw too many half litre capacity trugs, though.

Beer brewed in Laois. My first, I think. Haven't spared the hops. Plenty bitter and fruity.

I only met him once many, many years ago but I have a distinct memory of his quiet nature as he showed us around the Franciscan Well brewery. His accent also. Classical lyrical Cork. Sad to hear of his death.

In my home town for a few days. Eventually tracked down this elusive brew. Perfect in the Surrey sun.

Drinking local in Villamoura. Has the edge over Super Bock but that's not saying much. At 34°C I'm just happy to be here.

I can sadly report that recent reports of Dublin 1 being one of the dirtiest parts of the country are not exaggerated.

Love The Black Sheep's dog friendly policy. Never thought I'd be the bloke having a pint in a pub with my dog at my feet.

Favourite ball.

It's messed up now. Too many mixed influences. But it works.

Not bad as bottle caps go

More Irish influence this time.

I understand the science but still think it's witchcraft that a chunk of plastic can hold this kind of sound.

Beer and vinyl kind of afternoon. German influences present.

Looks like I'm sharing my pork pie. Again. I'm powerless .

Hazy beer. Not so hazy sunshine.

Berlin adventure coming to an end. A last beer at the airport to see what berlin makes of the pale ale...

I seem to have gone a bit Bavarian in Berlin. It's 27°C here. This measure of cool beer is a necessity.

Hansa studios. Much magic worked in this place. Including my favoutire albums. Bowie holds front stage though U2 recorded here also.

Bit imposing. Used for surveillance back in the cold war days. Not officially, of course.
