Innocent until proven guilty is a legal rule that limits state punishment. It isn’t a claim about reality. Society, institutions, and individuals are allowed to assess credibility, risk, and patterns independently of court verdicts.

Republicans and the anti-abortion movement are killing people like Tierra Walker, and have the audacity to call themselves "pro-life". They only defend fetuses, and not the people they become.

My best friend nearly froze his last winter on the streets here in Ottawa and spent several days in ICU. Thankfully, he is now housed. We came across the frozen body of a homeless person once.
