An event called "Veterans Supporting Veterans Stand Down Event" is scheduled for November 7th from 2-7 PM at Segra Stadium in Fayetteville, NC. The event is being co-hosted by 50501-Vets and Common Defense, with the Fayetteville Resistance Coalition as a partner. The purpose of a "Stand Down" is to provide supplies and services to veterans in need, such as food, clothing, health screenings, and benefits counseling. This specific event aims to connect veterans and their families with resources and employers. Services expected at this event include: Employment and career resources, including meeting with veteran-friendly employers and workshops on resumes and interviews. Support services for at-risk veterans, such as mobile showers, laundry, free haircuts, food, hygiene kits, and clothing donations. Connections to workforce development and job training programs. Other similar "Homeless Veterans Stand Down" events have also been held in Fayetteville at Festival Park, hosted by the Fayetteville NC VA Coastal Health Care System and the City of Fayetteville.
