This is unfortunately true and was eminently avoidable. Living in denial about it exacerbates it immensely. The gross devaluation that Netanyahu caused Israel’s brand will linger for years, although the ability and tools to repair and reverse it exist.
I really do not think many of the pro-Israel Jewish folks understand just how much Israel will never be seen the same again.
From liberal Zionist to far right, many exist in a media bubble, and have a mistaken impression they are the mainstream.
They are increasingly in an alternate universe.

The Horniman Natural History Gallery features this stunning walrus.
It was transported to England, purchased in 1886. There, the taxidermists, having never seen one in the wild, stuffed it until the wrinkles smoothed out.
