It's important to remember that the genre, sub genre, the time the novel is written, writer's voice and style all affect the "acceptable" length for your book. Fantasy and epic fantasy novels are notorious for being longer than YA books for example. Great books can bend the rules

How long should your novel be? I like this guideline from Writers Digest. It uses ranges and gives a good indication of what's realistic. But always use the requirements of the specific agent or publisher you're querying.

Being a #writer necessitates having thick skin. If you put #writing online you're going to get feedback. Some of it may not be positive. Once you release stuff, it becomes public property that will be consumed and commented on. That's the way it is
