Absolutely
make ambient music and don't listen to posts about how you shouldn't do the music that sounds good to you

Recorded Gabriel Kahane with the CSO last night, and I'm here to say... this guy is onto something. The best American-song Orchestra Crossover music I've heard in a long time.

Gabe, it absolutely belongs in the concert hall. Beautiful music sir.

Subscription only software should be illegal. Name your price for a working product and go away.

Every corporate "payment portal" is the most inefficient and expensive way for companies to bill and pay for things.

Crap software, on subscription, poorly supported... they even managed to enshitifiy writing checks

Ben tried to limit Quote Reposts and comments to his followers. But....

The picture shows the last time anyone's data was actually secure.

There are no real privacy and data controls on platforms. Especially from the backend. Nothing digital will ever be secure.

Rest easy Greg Brown! You riffs and guitar tones always hooked me.

Finally deleted the Facebook profile. That place is the worst ad rev combo of National Enquire, People Magazine, a high school yearbook, and KGB Psyop.

Guess I'll read this book today instead.

BURN IT ALL DOWN
In related news about the Washington Post and the state of journalism today, Amazon "ran a $1.2 billion tax bill last year, down from $9 billion the previous year, even as its profits jumped by 45% to nearly $90 billion."

That's in the wake of the 2025 tax bill

Amazon's tax bill plunges after GOP tax cuts
The 87 percent drop is largely due to a more generous depreciation break in the 'One Big Beautiful Bill Act.'

FYI... this doesn't mean the price of gold is skyrocketing. This means the USD is tanking.

So... hear me out. What if?

Steinberg buys up NI. 😀

Kontakt merges with Halion. RX folds into Spectral Layers. It feels like a real solid business decision for Yamaha/Steinberg to absorb large portions of the market. They are one of the few companies that could handle it well.

Read this comment and couldn't agree more....

"Since 2021, Native Instruments has been majority owned by Francisco Partners, a large US based private equity firm."

Private equity ownership is NEVER a good thing, especially for the customers and employees.

My first ever Deep Space photo with and without bad processing by me. I have no idea what I'm doing, but it's fun.

Federal agents are pulling over off duty cops based on the color of their skin.

This is not a serious operation to enforce immigration law. It’s a performative show of force and it’s gotten way out of hand.

It saddens me that this is the most engagement I've had on Bsky. Political vitriol feedback loop central. Guess I could quip for clout here by dropping more obviously agreeable statements

Do you recall the days of Sound-Twitter? We talked about craft and art. 😭 #betterTimes
Literally just read a statement from a UK politician... under Trump the USA is becoming an enemy state.

We live in a cartoon. How can partisan loyalty be this strong? He is unhinged, but they stay loyal and oblivious to his failed character. I will never understand that.

What are the opinions? UA will continue to support the old DSP platform and require that for some plugins, or UA is in the process of going fully native and dumping all DSP development for the old SHARC chips

Join me in saying THANKS and CONGRATS to Warren Lee, the stranger who so kindly purchased my Sputnik Spectral Processor on Reverb. It's because of their GAS that we're now going to try something else for our GAS...

The Frap Tools Fumana!!! (also a spectral processor)
