RIP Marianne Faithfull. Tough as nails and eternally cool. Singular singer and underrated interpreter. Also co-wrote possibly the bleakest Rolling Stones song, and maximized that bleakness on her own version.

Winter is a deep cut Stones song that appears on the Tumbling Dice setlist around the holidays. We love the wistful lyrics.

But it's Mick Taylor's delicate, twisting guitar lines - like falling snow - that makes the track so magical.

Shout out to saxophone great Bobby Keys, who died on this day 10 years ago. Bobby and Keith were thick as thieves, especially when on the road; they would get into all sorts of trouble together.
