No pressure. I’ve got the pressure switch, pressure release valve and pressure gauge all connected to the pressure tank! Now all we need is to run some water lines up into the building.

We’re going to have firewood for years. And this is only a fraction of what came from clearing the land for parking, the septic system, and Birchwood Cottage at The Timber Walk. Nothing like heating your future cabin with the trees that made way for it. #thetimberwalk #lowergreenwich #nbcabins

IT’S ALIVE!!! Don’t worry, those aren’t monster tentacles reaching into the workshop. They’re just the power lines for the cottage, cabins and shower house. This weekend we ran them into the building but they won’t be connected to the electrical panel until there are buildings on the other ends.

It was another exhausting day at The Timber Walk, preparing footings for the piers that will hold up Birchwood Cottage. I’m so grateful for the people in my life who are willing to help me turn this dream into a reality.

I got to try out the generator for the first time since it was bought 5 years ago for just an occasion like this. We’ve been without power for about 18 hours now.

I feel like this wood pile is going to get a whole lot bigger by the time we start building construction. We’ll have lots of wood for a bonfire pit or wood stove. I’m quickly getting the hang of working with a gas chainsaw.

We’ve cleared just enough trees to be able to create a small driveway, and hope to have that done before Christmas. Then the camper can be parked out there for the winter while we get started on the next steps toward creating Rockton Cottage and Cabins.

The camper is turning out far too cute to just sell it. Fortunately, there’s a cute little piece of wooded land waiting for it, so it needed a cute little sign too.
