A self-rally in Q8 generated a leader who in turn rallied a second squad in the location; they then combined with a pair of .50cals to bring some serious pain to my upper level defenders. Danny might not even need the Crocs if this keeps up.

Hey, I hadn't played any ASL in a while, had I? So I did today. This is a Starter Kit scenario from Basic Training issue #1. When I read it, the SSRs were very interesting, but the play was not as satisfying.
Board p, and the northern half of board v, in German Turn 1, after the special Airdrop Phase, which by special scenario rule (SSR) takes place in the first German Movement Phase. The German counters are semi-randomly scattered around two parts of the map. Most of the German counters are upside down to remind me that, by SSR, they do not have their full armament yet. The beige counters are New Zealand, the green are the local Greeks. I have made a critical error in positioning the Greek forces -- see the unoccupied building in the upper right. The Germans will exploit this soon. Before German Turn 3. Five multi-man counters (MMC) are on or near hexrow P, which is the edge of the board. Only 3 of those need to escape upwards for Germany to win this game. Simply too much for the Allied forces to stop...
