I recently made some garlic knots, but something was missing. What was missing, you ask? MORE CHEESE!

Another honorable mention dessert was found at the food and wine festival of Alma do Vinho in Alenquer, Portugal.

This is a Kit-Kat and Nutella stuffed churro.

Was this over the top? Yes. Was it delicious? Absolutely. Did I finish the whole thing? You’d better believe it!

My next stop in Marrakech was the Madrasa Ben Youssef - an architectural, intellectual and educational hub of Morocco.

This historic monument is absolutely beautiful and very inspirational for the world traveler!

While I do love food and desserts, I can’t ignore the magnificent craftsmanship found in Marrakech.

I was fortunate to observe a craftsman weaving a cotton scarf on his loom. I was also glad to buy one (or 4)

You know what isn’t awful? Moroccan couscous and falafel!

My first meal in Marrakech was an amazing vegetarian tagine with green peas, tomatoes, eggs, and more.

It was complemented by fresh dates, bread, and closed out with a fudgey cake served with a dollop of whipped cream.
