Married to Christine. Currently life sucks with both our health isssues family issues and so forth but I wouldn't change being married to Chris' for over 30 years for anything. Not a tiny bit right-wing. I write, give film opinions, paint and design stuff.
RHYS DARBY (2024); he's on Richard Osman's House of Games on BBC2; so I thought I'd post up my portrait. I find Rhys very funny and entertaining, so much I went out of my to find his less well-known stuff - a good decision. Keep going Rhys! #portrait #painting #portraitartist #art #artist #RhysDarby

1/2 Here's a painting I did about early/mid 2024 it's the actor Michael Kelly playing CJ in the Zack Snyder Dawn of the Dead remake. The best role in the film and well acted, I did put a link to this for him but no interest. #painting #art #artist #painter #portrait #DawnoftheDead #MichaelKelly

COLOSSAL (2016) written in early January 2018. A film I enjoyed. Here is my opinion piece - c'mon fans I seriously believe my writing, opinions and fiction is better than my painting.....I think I might be the only one though. #Colossal #film #movies #filmopinion #TheREALFilmCricket

Not generally soppy; here's my dad - aged 16 in '43, on the Isle of Man as a boy sailor. He went off to fight alongside the USA against the Japanese, he was at the surrender of Japan and went to Hiroshima as well. He was working full-time aged 13, but preferred WW2 to working 12 hours 7 days a week.

Just so everyone feels better about themselves, I just made the most revolting and horrible-tasting Christmas Dinner I've ever had.

Back to salads tomorrow.
December 25, 2025 at 4:00 PM
Here's a Christmas painting 2 years old, from a family photo. I was pestered to paint landscapes instead of people. Some like it, others don't. Merry Christmas everyone - that family member won't be asking me to paint again - there is that #art #painting #landscape #MerryChristmas #painter #artist

I didn't make the background graphic; the additions (wording/paintings etc) are mine, I mean everything written, despite a largish group of people (including family) disliking me intensely. I still wish them/everyone else a Happy Christmas and a prosperous, joyful 2026 #MerryChristmas #HappyNewYear

This is a chap we were all friends with on T*****r. The painting is called JAS from roughly 2018-19 and for the life of me, I cannot remember his name. He was really nice but drifted off that hell-hole before it became a hell-hole #art #portrait #painting #painter #artist #portraitpainter #StrovArt

GRANDMA's HOUSE I painted this from a photo sent to me by a workfriend, now just great friend Bexy. We worked together for a year, she kept in touch for 20 years, no other work colleague has ever done that - ever. I framed this, I will send it to her one day #painting #art #artist #painter #StrovArt

My best friend since I was 5, first day at school, has the surname McDonagh, so I had to review and watch films by the McDonaghs. I wrote this opinion piece 12 years ago in November, anyway, it had Tom Waits in it!

Seven psychos, one of them is Christopher Walken, it’s never going to be dull is it?
Nonsensical or tremendous fun you takes your pick but with Sam Rockwell, Christopher Walken, Colin Farrell, Harry Dean Stanton, Tom Waits and Woody Harrelson it can’t be all bad….

My wife Christine, a holiday in the early 2000s in Portugal, we were on a bus trip and I took a silly photo of her, that is her look. I painted it a few years later, oh before cancer, the effects of SIADH, falling out with her family... #portrait #portraitart #artist #art #mywife #painting #painter

Another self-portrait - a year or so after the previous one posted. Sad and reflective - I think what I say about myself is clear. My wife liked and disliked this. It was on the sideboard in our old house for years. I feel like this now. #selfportrait #portrait #painting #art #artist #portraitartist

This is one of my first self-portraits; I can't remember when I painted it maybe the early 2000s. I remember someone saying I looked like a chimpanzee because of the ear! It is a sort of image of thoughtfulness/depression and here 25 years later nothing's changed #art #artist #portrait #selfportrait

What would you really do in a zombie outbreak, other than die, more than likely this – ladies and gentlemen I present The Battery.
A zombie film that doesn’t follow all of the tropes, made on a small budget the restraints help everyone including the viewer.

Another portrait;Jeremy Gardner (2023-24) from the low budget 'zombie' film he made called The Battery. I enjoyed it, especially after the multitude of zombie films that ruined the genre, he made effort with his story. I'll post my film opinion above #portrait #painting #art #artist #JeremyGardher

Hellboy directed by Guillermo del Toro – if you don’t mind a bit of high fantasy and silliness – it’s a blast!
