Panel 1: With a warped smile and a hissing voice she mocked the small child. “Tell me child, why don’t you sell me your weak little soul.” She continued holding the paper doll in her claws. “In return I will grant you one wish.” Panel 2: Without any hesitation and pure excitement Nico responded with, “ok.” He didn’t find any problem taking an opportunity to cure his chronic illness Panel 1: Yuki-onna’s face continued to distort as she attempted to frighten Nico into her deal, even though he already agreed. “Until you decide I’ll haunt your-“ Her threats were interrupted with meek but happy voice. “I said yes..” Nico interjected. Panel 2: “wait what?” Yuki-onna said with a bit of confusion as she looked at the weirdly unbothered kid. “Let’s do this thing.” Nico said with a thumbs up. Panel 3: “Ahem! That was easier than I thought..Go on then, tell me your wish.” The winter spirit spoke seemingly returning to normal not expecting for things to go this smoothly. With an excited, “yepieeeee” from Nico he got ready to make his wish. Panel 4: “ My wish is pretty simple..I want to live like a normal kid.” Nico spoke with a wide smile on his face at the thought of growing up with kids how own age, which is something he hasn’t been able to experience due to his fragile condition. With a laugh Yuki-Onna accepted his desire, “ha I had a feeling that would be your wish.”

Panel 1: The winter spirit, Yuki-onna, enters Nico’s hospital room. Her black hair sprawling in the wind as she approached. Panel 2: Yuki-onna picks up the crumbled paper doll from the ground. Panel 3: Hands filled with care she unfolded the doll doing her best to restore her to her original from. Though wrinkles and gashes still remained. Panel 4: Nico in his hospital bed shivered from the lowered temperature that the winter spirit caused. Panel 1: Awoken from his light sleep the dazed young boy look on in confused. Panel 2: “You should have made paper cranes instead of dolls. Maybe a kinder spirit would have visited you” The mysterious spirit spoke in an ominous voice.

I think little Nico is projecting a tiny bit 🫤
Panel 1: A alarm clock that read 2:37am of a still brightly lit hospital room. Panel 2: In one hand the young Nico held a lavender toned paper doll that was dressed in a frilly outfit. In the other hand is a handsome looking orange counterpart. He happily hums out ‘Here comes the bride’ tune as he plays pretend with his homemade dolls. Panel 3: “SMOOOOOOOOOOOOCH!” Nico dramatically exclaims as he presses the two paper toys together. Panel 4: “You’re now married” The end of his sentence got interrupted by small tickle in his nose. Panel 5: “ACHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!” With a loud bone shaking sneeze the lavender doll was crushed in his clenched fist, while the orange one was thrown to the side spared of being crumbled. Panel 6: Recovering from the thunderous sneeze Nico regained his sense to see the the damage he caused. “Wa! Wa!” He made a noise of surprise, before turning to the orange groom. “I’m sorry your wife had an accident!” panel 1: In an almost bizarre tone shift the young boy unconsciously projected all he animosity onto the ruined doll. “Now she is so” Nico paused for a second before expressing with all his disgust. “Ugly” panel 2: With intense eyes that labeled the hurting doll as ‘broken’ his anger came to a boiling point. Panel 3: In his weak state all Nico could do to express his rage was crush the paper doll even further into a ball. Just so he doesn’t have to see its face ever again. Panel 4: After all was said and done Nico retired into a light sleep, as the balled up doll laid limply on the ground. Unbeknownst to him an unworldly spirit had watched this scene of negativity from outside his hospital window.

In late night December, snow has just begun to dust the ground outside the child’s unit of a hospital. Panel 1: Inside a well lit hospital room an IV bag is in use delivering fluids to its young patient. The clock reads 8:30pm. Panel 2: A short white haired man named, Kristofer, holds his weak son’s hand as he tried to hide the concern on his face. Next to him is the boy’s other father Noah who has a look of defeated by the condition his child is in. “We will be back in the morning” Kristofer spoke in his thick German accent as he cradled his offspring’s hand. Panel 3: “Your dad and I love you very much” Kristofer continues. Noah shares the same concern look on his face that could hardly be mask with a smile. Panel 4: Finally, in a frail voice the small boy whose name is Nico spoke. “I love you too” as his said goodbye to his dads.
