This may be a hot take, but Commander isn't about winning. Sure, it's a social format, so a huge portion is about having fun with people you like, but when it comes down to deck building and playing that deck, the point is to do your deck's thing. If you do that and have fun, you've won. My 2 cents!

Most of what I find fun about commander isn't doing what I can to have the best deck or play the best cards, it's having an incredibly mid deck and figuring out how to win anyway.

I've only talked about it on my Discord, but January 2026 was "back into content" phase for me. I tried to do one daily short every day, one cut Commander gameplay VOD per week and one fully edited video in the month. I didn't hit all the VODs or the edited video, but we did great on shorts!

I've got a lot of decks, all but one of them are from Universes Beyond, but my favorite so far has been Zidane. It's my best deck to play into blind pods because it's power level raises and lowers with the table's power levels.
