I am honored to be appointed to the USC Society of Fellows in the Humanities for the academic years 2025-7. The theme of this cohort is "Sites of Inquiry" and I will be working on my next book project, "Sound in Sacred Spaces."

music students do fieldwork papers 2x each semester. So I've been asking them to upload their info into a Scalar platform. It is still pretty rudimentary, but may be a fun tool for better understanding music in LA. scalar.usc.edu/works/world-mus...

A musical whiplash day at USC! Tinikling (Philippine dance) demo in WM class with Maia Ruiz-Law, lecture on Sligo fiddling in NYC. Then a reimagining Ellington talk (colleagues McCurdy and Garcia Corona) and amazing concert with multiple student ensembles and arrangers and faculty collaborators.
