I am honored to be appointed to the USC Society of Fellows in the Humanities for the academic years 2025-7. The theme of this cohort is "Sites of Inquiry" and I will be working on my next book project, "Sound in Sacred Spaces."

New chapter in the book Remediating Sound: Repeatable Culture, YouTube and Music. “Meme and Variations: How Video Mashups of John Coltrane’s ‘Giant Steps’ Became a Thing.” Bringing ethnography to media research, to give the field of ethnomusicology some tools to deal with music and moving image.

A musical whiplash day at USC! Tinikling (Philippine dance) demo in WM class with Maia Ruiz-Law, lecture on Sligo fiddling in NYC. Then a reimagining Ellington talk (colleagues McCurdy and Garcia Corona) and amazing concert with multiple student ensembles and arrangers and faculty collaborators.
