I went out to see Zion's ashes and the other little things the cremation service provided.
I was slightly worried that it would tear my heart open, seeing pictures of her, and a pawprint in clay. It didn't. I felt relief. Peace.

I'm sorry for the complete radio silence yesterday. Sleep was terrible and then I just...gave up on communicating. I'm okay, and about as healed as I can be. I had a dream that Zion was still alive, but no tears. So I'll try again tomorrow.

I'm going to intentionally take Monday off as I continue to work through the sadness. It's still hard to be "on" at the moment. That will change soon enough, but today showed me that I still need a little more space and time to grieve my baby girl.

Happy Valentine's Day. I sleep. Normally I can handle being a single, desperately lonely, old, unattractive giga-loser no problem. It's the "mourning a very sudden and unexpected" loss part that hurts/is shutting me down for the day.

I'm gonna cancel KCD2 today. I'm sorry to do it but I'm very concerned about my cat. Zion hasn't eaten much, if at all, in roughly 24 hours and she's sort of hiding herself and not being very active. I want to observe her and make sure nothing bad is happening.

This is the first time I could get to a device to mention that I woke up in severe back pain, followed immediately by bathroom rush. My back is fine for the moment and my stomach has also calmed. Clearly no Dark Souls today.
