Proud dad moment, my eldest joined the cadets in August this year. Today at the end of year dinner, they received the rising star award, took every little bit of deportment I had to not yell, hoot and holler when it was announced!

Right, all things going well, I'm going on for surgery on the thirteenth of December, after which I have a couple of weeks to work up to normal foods. Christmas Day will be when I eat normal foods, but what should I make for dinner for myself on the eleventh?

I haven't lived in a place with true Nature visible from my backyard in decades, I've missed it, and whilst I dislike gardening, the ability to wander onto my back deck, see water, birds, trees, it puts my mind in a happy place.
