Not every baller bursts onto the scene at 18 with a Champions League debut and a £90 haircut. Some of the best stories in football come from the lads who took the long road—grinding it out in the lower leagues, juggling day jobs, or just not getting their shot until well into their twenties. But when they did arrive, they didn’t half make it count.

Whatever lager it was just have been a monster at the start as it has basically the same base ABV as Carlsberg.

Risotto Milanese is a wonderful, rich and exotic risotto with hints of saffron and buttery goodness. The problem is I always feel like it needs something to go with it. While it’s very rich and very filling it’s also very one note. Our solution to the problem is a single high quality ingredient to add flavour and variety. I chose Cod, cooked simply and well seasoned to stand up against the risotto.

Look at that pint. A pretty standard example of a pint of Birra Moretti right? Wrong! That is in fact a pint of Cruzcampo, served in the incorrect glass. I have no idea why this boils my urine so much, but it does. Breweries spend large amounts of money designing, testing and manufacturing the perfect glassware for their beer. To serve it in someone else’s glass seems almost disrespectful.

Camden Town is one of Brewings real success stories. Their debut beer, this very lager was released in 2010. By 2015 they had been acquired by Brewing Giants ABInBev for £85 million. Camden Hells, cleverly named, apparently, because it’s a blend of a Helles and a Pilsners. The Upshot Hells is crisp, and refreshing with a pleasant aftertaste. Its very slight m hoppines is called by the pilsner style malts that leave a good mouth feel.

In the twenty first century there is quite the blur between the words want and need. Often what we say we need is just what we really really really want and what we need something we think we actually need but could probably do with out. Technically speaking if you want something then you have a desire to possess or do something you wish for.

A fragrant curry of Pakistani origin, Chicken Karahi is fresh with garlic and ginger, and plenty of tomatoes. Crucially though, there are no onions in the curry base. This lager is super crisp and very drinkable. In my early days of owning a Perfect Draft machine this was of my go to lagers. During summer time it’s a real treat.
