Yesterday Gov. Hochul released her FY26-27 Executive Budget. The proposed budget contains several items that will directly impact #supportivehousing, as well as key programs for behavioral health, human services and affordable housing.

The Continuum of Care (CoC)—the backbone of supportive housing —is in serious jeopardy. ~2.5K households will fall out of contract across NYS between Jan- March. Only a congressional fix can stop the harm.

Yesterday, HUD rescinded the FY25 Continuum of Care Notice of Funding Opportunity. This rescindment came an hour before a scheduled hearing in a lawsuit, led by NY Attorney General, against HUD charging that the NOFO is illegal & unconstitutional.
