The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon comes out swinging after the divisive Daybreak 2, where so much of the story was tied up in time travel shenanigans. However, the main narrative is compelling despite a slow start.

I’m done. Can’t say I particularly think this game aged well. Needed some massive quality of life improvements.
Apart from healing and black magic - every other spell seems to have a 99% miss rate. Really great design Square
Anyway, go play Triangle Strategy.

The job system is cool but the minuscule amount of XP makes battles very challenging and unlocking good abilities feel like a slog.
It ain’t no Triangle Strategy, that’s for sure
