this is why i don't fault people for not getting subjects involved (when it comes to broad coverage, bios are trickier).
everyone wants to "control their own narrative" which ends in covering dirt/throwing other under the bus for money-credit/nothing happening at all.

“saving this for the documentary” (that in reality would never get made) was a constant response. sometimes to specific questions, sometimes to the whole idea of an interview. some of those sources are dead now.
